Tom Hayes, a local photographer focusing on crocodiles, believes the decapitated animal's head was taken by a trophy hunter.
He said in a caption that there had been"clear machete marks" on the croc, and because of that, he is almost certain that the reptile was killed by someone who snatched its head as a trophy.
