A SwRI executive said a former engineer's criminal case has been “devastating” to it, but a SwRI manager wrote a letter of support for Tao to the judge.
About a month ahead of ex-Southwest Research Institute engineer Xiaojian Tao ’s sentencing for filing false tax returns, a manager at the San Antonio nonprofit wrote a letter of support for Tao to the judge. John Bishop , a SwRI senior program manager in the applied physics division, raved in the letter about Tao’s “very strong reputation amongst his clients who see him as someone with extensive knowledge and expertise.” Bishop’s Sept. 3 letter to U.S.
