KUALA LUMPUR: Disciplinary action will be taken against eight police corporals, who accepted pay-offs from other police personnel on the pretext of arranging their transfers.
Bukit Aman Management Department director Comm Datuk Abd Rahim Jaafar said the personnel involved claimed they could arrange for transfers but in actuality, they could not.
"As it turned out, their ruse was exposed when the transfer did not go through," he told a press conference in Bukit Aman on Monday . On another matter, Comm Rahim did not rule out the possibility that certain police personnel and officers would pay thousands ringgit to pass exams for promotion.Last week, Inspector-General of Police Tan Sri Abdul Hamid Bador had said that some officers and policemen were willing to pay thousands of ringgit to pass internal examinations so they have a chance to be promoted.
