A week-long search for the winner of a $40 million Powerball prize has ended, with a family enjoying a celebratory dinner of fish and chips after finding out a forgotten ticket had changed their lives.
A father has told how he was left in"complete disbelief" after finding out he had become an instant millionaire.
A statement from Lotterywest said the man purchased his winning ticket just an hour before the draw closed on March 2 - but then forgot he was in the running for the prize. "I was in complete disbelief and shock when the retailer explained I had the winning ticket," he said. The man revealed the family enjoyed a celebratory dinner of fish and chips while it fully sunk in their lives had changed forever.
