A disabled combat medic and her son received keys Tuesday to a new home built and donated by volunteers.
News cameras followed the mom and son around as they toured their new house for the first time, but she welcomed the publicity for Operation Finally Home because she said there are many more veterans in need.

Other new construction is happening nearby. “This something we really want to do. “Every day is a new day. We never know what we're not going to get. We never know which contractor is not going to show up,” Walls said. “Some of them have gone out of business because of the whole stress and strain of the building industry right now.”“When people do stuff like this from their heart, it shows, and they've been really great,” she said.
