Baby's father, Jerry Orbach, passed away in 2004, but could also appear via flashback footage. As for new cast members, nothing has been revealed as of yet but keep your eyes open for the newcomers to the Catskills resort.
Behind the scenes, the project will be directed by Jonathan Levine who co-wrote the screenplay with Elizabeth Chomko, Mikki Daughtry, and Tobias Iaconis . Grey is also producing.The upcoming film does have a plot synopsis. it takes place in the 1990s and sees Baby return to the Kellerman’s resort where she spent that fateful summer. Her own story at the resort will weave in with a new set of young lovers for a story of summer, young romance, and dancing.
Levine said:"This film exists in a dialogue with the original. We want to introduce this story to a whole new generation. That said, Johnny’s absence looms large over the story, so it’s a coming-of-age story but also a coming-of-age for Baby’s character in a way."Don't worry your pretty little head, some of the best hits from the first film will feature, including 'Hungry Eyes' by Eric Carmen.
