'Faltaba dar voz a los muertos', asegura el español Juan Antonio Bayona, director de 'La sociedad de la nieve', un nuevo relato llevado al cine del trágico accidente aéreo que en 1972 protagonizaron los componentes del equipo uruguayo de rugby Old Christians en la cordillera de los Andes.

La película, basada en el libro de Pablo Vierci del mismo nombre, representará a España en la 96 edición de los Oscar, y este martes se presentó en el Festival Internacional de Cine Fantástico de Cataluña, que se celebra en la localidad de Sitges .

Bayona cree que, con su película, tanto los familiares de los supervivientes como los de los fallecidos 'tuvieron acceso a meterse en ese avión, vivir lo que ellos vivieron y entender lo que ellos pasaron para poder aceptarlo'.
