Director Jeff Blitz chats with Screen Rant about the premiere's giant twist and exploring Nathan and Nora's relationship in Upload season 3.
SCREENRANT VIDEO OF THE DAY SCROLL TO CONTINUE WITH CONTENT Summary Making its grand return to the streaming service after a year-and-a-half-long hiatus, the first two episodes of Upload season 3 have finally premiered on Prime Video. Two new episodes will continue to drop each Friday until the season finale on November 10. The premiere opens with Nathan back in the real world and embracing his relationship with Nora, which was finally solidified at the end of Upload season 2.
Given the circumstances, do you feel Nora is struggling to embrace what they finally have, knowing she could potentially lose him in a matter of weeks? What kind of conversations did you have with Andy Allo in regard to how Nora is approaching the relationship? Ingrid spent the past two seasons pining after Nathan, despite his growing disinterest. However, she had a moment of clarity in the premiere. What do you think finally sparked that realization?
Upload has always been able to incorporate elements from a wide range of genres. The comedy is just as strong going into season 3, despite the gravity of their mission and Nathan’s circumstances. What kind of work goes into maintaining that balance? This is something that I’m sure affects all the seasons, but even with Nathan in the real world, there’s plenty of futuristic technology that needs to be edited in during post-production. What kind of challenges does the lack of something tangible pose for the actors, and for yourself as the director?
