Dior is making the case for tartan boots

In the years after World War II, he revolutionized fashion with dresses that flared from the waist and blossomed into voluminous skirts, a look he finished with pointed kitten heels. Maria Grazia Chiuri, Dior’s current creative director, likes playing with proportion herself.
Dior’s show was a riff on the rebellious British teddy-girl style of the ’50s. The boots, called the Beat, come in a black-and-white tartan that feels both mod and cozy, like an après-ski look with a little bit of an edge. Slip them on for sitting next to a fire with a homemade cup of cocoa or just wear them on the street. Either way, take Dior’s classic silhouette as inspiration and wear them with a long, flouncy skirt.
