Dine on a Covered Bridge named the coolest place to have dinner in Ohio by Midwest Living Midwest Living has named a 158-year-old covered bridge in Union County as the coolest dinner spot you will find in Ohio.

For the last five years, Union County's Pottersburg Covered Bridge has hosted lunch and dinner during the summer and fall seasons. Guestsby sitting at a long communal style table under string lights and some of the best farm-to-table food found in central Ohio, while live music and nature sounds set the tone.

Guests have the opportunity to learn about the landmark’s turbulent history dating back to the 19th century, when legendary Union County local Reuben L. Partridge, aka “The Bridge Builder,” engineered the structure to carry horse-drawn carriages across Big Darby Creek in Marysville. Decades later, the bridge was moved to a new location instead of demolished to accommodate Honda becoming a North American hub in the area and the traffic that would ultimately come along with it.

This year marks the sixth consecutive year for the unique dining experience and the journey begins on a narrated trolley tour that departs from one of six nearby wineries or breweries. The trolley takes guests around town to three other historic bridges, Buck Run Covered Bridge, Spain Creek Covered Bridge, and North Lewisburg Covered Bridge—before arriving at the scenic meal spot.

“It’s more than just a meal,” Union County Tourism sales and marketing manager, Grace Croswell said in a statement. “It showcases what makes Union County special, with local food and drinks from wineries and breweries, local farms, and local caterers. It celebrates our county's past heritage with the covered bridges as well as our current businesses.
