PARÍS (AP) — Seis años después, Grigor Dimitrov vuelve a una final en un torneo Masters.
El búlgaro se sobrepuso a una gran resistencia del séptimo sembrado Stefanos Tsitsipas el sábado para ganar 6-3, 6-7 , 7-6 y alcanzar la final del Masters de París. Sacó lo mejo después de que Tsitsipas inició mal y se llevó el primer set antes de que su rival griego salvara dos puntos de quiebre 4-4 en el segundo set para finalmente remontar.
Pero Tsitsipas no pudo convertir cuatro puntos de quiebre en el tercer game. “Tras el segundo set, especialmente en el desempate, se complicó. 14-50 abajo en el tercero y pensé que no podía seguir de esta forma, entonces tengo que cambiarlo”, admitió. Dimitrov se portó a la altura en el último desempate pegando tres buenos tiros, incluyendo el golpe con el que selló la victoria.
