Frontcourt depth remains an issue for the Warriors during Draymond Green’s injury absence.
It’s no secret that injuries have zapped the Warriors of frontcourt depth as both All-Star Draymond Green and second-year center James Wiseman remain sidelined, but it doesn’t sound as if Golden State is eager to address that issue with a blockbuster trade prior to Thursday’s 12 p.m. PT deadline.
“That would be the expectation,” Curry said of a quiet deadline. “Second in the West, we have a really good record, we’ve had some bad nights and some things we need to get better at and we understand we’re not playing championship basketball every night, but we have shown and demonstrated that and I love the fact the vibe in our locker room is what it is after a loss.”
Rookie Jonathan Kuminga has shown glimpses of being able to handle a role as a small-ball center similar to the one Green plays for the Warriors in certain lineups, but Kuminga isn’t considered a strong rebounder and finished Wednesday’s loss with two rebounds in 23 minutes.
