Philippine Red Cross boss welcomes beauty queen as new ambassador of the country’s leading humanitarian organization. Beauty queen and GMA Network talent Michelle Dee is the latest high-profile personality to join the Philippine Red Cross (PRC) as ambassador.
2023 Miss Universe Philippines Michelle Dee: “I realized what an amazing platform a beauty pageant can be. It gave me the energy and inspiration to advocate for the things I believe in.”
Contract signing: Philippine Red Cross board of governors member Jenni Munar, secretary-general Gwen Pang, chairman and CEO Richard Gordon, Red Cross ambassador Michelle Dee, GMA Network senior VP Annette Gozon-Valdes, and GMA Sparkle VP Joy Marcelo. At the back is GMA talent Bea Arboleda, who was the program host.
While Dee broke into a hearty laugh, she was serious in her reply: “How to give back, how to use one’s platform for the right reasons, that is something I will do with the Philippine Red Cross. I love women empowerment. I love being part of the solution.” “We have signed an agreement with Cardinal Santos Medical Center to provide blood all-year-round, which is the way it should be. The Red Cross will make sure blood is always available at all hours at Cardinal Santos. We’re also signing with St. Luke’s next week. So, this is the world we live in. I’ve been to Pinatubo, I’ve been to shipwrecks, in places of conflict, we have negotiated for the release of hostages, it’s a very exciting life.
