Tokyo Olympics gold medalist Hidilyn Diaz-Naranjo will have a training camp the next two weeks in the United Stated as she continues to prepare for international tournaments like the Asian Weightlifting Championships.

The 32-year-old weightlifter will fly to the US on Wednesday, March 9 for the training camp.The event that Diaz is preparing for will be her first this year as the Asian Championship is set May 3 to 13 at Jiju City in Korea. After her US training camp, Diaz's team will go straight to Korea to continue her preparation for the said competition.Diaz said qualifying for a fifth straight Olympics in the Paris Games in France would be tough.

According to Diaz, another part of the qualification is joining in five tournaments sanctioned by the International Weightlifting Federation as a qualifying meet for the 2024 Paris Olympics in France.Diaz has already joined in her first IWF-sanctioned meet in the 2022 World Weightlifting Championships in Bogota, Colombia where she topped the event with three gold medals.
