KOTA KINABALU: A Sabah MP has welcomed the proposal by the state government to establish a much-needed dialysis centre in the interior Tenom district.
Tenom MP Riduan Rubin said the suggestion by Sabah Community Development and People’s Wellbeing Minister Datuk James Ratib for the district to have its very own centre was apt, considering its necessity for the residents there.
"I have received numerous complaints from the people that they could not receive the treatment because of insufficient machines at the Tenom Hospital. “But the high cost for the treatment, as much as RM200 for just one session is most burdensome for these patients and their families. On Monday , Ratib proposed setting up a dialysis service centre in Keningau so that patients could receive treatment accordingly.
