Since his diagnosis in 2018, Mical Roy has been sharing his story to encourage others to be screened for prostate cancer and reduce its taboo.

“This is the first time ever hearing about anything having to do with PSA, prostate cancer, any of that,” Roy said. “It was not on my radar at all." “I honestly felt stuck in that moment, and in a lot of ways still. It was just like pure shock because it’s not like I can mentally prepare for that. I had perfectly amazing health,” Roy said. “It was like, ‘Wow this is intense.’”
