While it attempts to fix an exploit for duplicating gold and items in Diablo IV, Blizzard has suspended player trading 'until further notice.'
players on Xbox Series X|S and Xbox One will be unable to trade with other players"until further notice," as Blizzard is attempting to fix a trading exploit players were using to duplicate large sums of gold and rare items. The team has said that accounts found to be engaging with the exploit will be"actioned," although later reassured players that those who had"accidentally" traded with someone using the exploit"won't be actioned against.
Due to the exploit requiring player trading, Blizzard has had to turn it off for the time being. In a post on the Diablo IV forums, Blizzard has posted a""We’ve suspended player trading in Diablo IV until further notice due to a gold and item duplication exploit. We are working on a fix to amend this issue and will update you once we’ve reinstated the ability to trade. Once that is done, we will continue to monitor this activity to ensure a healthy playing experience for all.
, and later added that as"a point of clarification: players who accidentally traded with a player found using the exploit won't be actioned against."
