We did it! Temperatures topped out at 99 degrees at DFW Airport today and tomorrow is expected to be even cooler.
FOX 4's Ali Turiano says we have broken our streak of 100-degree days. We take a look at our scorching start to August and how long the relief will last.An August cold front dropped the high temperature at DFW Airport to 99 degrees.Some people in North Texas did see temperatures in the 100s.For those who missed out on temperatures in the 90s on Monday, Tuesday should be a streak-breaker.
Either way, our 100-degree streak will end up being the 6th longest of all time in Dallas-Fort Worth.This cold front comes after we set a new record high on Saturday with temperatures hitting 106. The previous high was 105 degrees in 1951.On Monday at 7 a.m. we reached 359 straight hours with temperatures at or above 80 degrees.
