Passengers at both DFW Airport and Dallas Love Field would have seen refunds last year for disrupted travel under the new DOT rule.

Austin-based Upgraded Points analyzed flight data from 2023 to determine how many passengers would have received refunds.The study, which used 2023 data from the U.S. Bureau of Transportation Statistics, reported that 9,915 flights, or 3.4% of the flights flown would have qualified for refunds to passengers. DFW Airport is the top airport that would have seen the most refunds. It is also the third busiest airport in the world based on passenger traffic.
