DFA: 1,677 overseas Filipinos test positive for COVID19
MANILA - The number of Filipinos abroad who contracted the novel coronavirus disease is now at 1,677 with 33 new cases, the Department of Foreign Affairs said Thursday. Today, the DFA confirms almost a total of 1,700 COVID-19 cases among our nationals abroad, of which are 33 new confirmed cases , 17 new recoveries, and 2 new deaths. The updated figures show that the total number of recoveries at 451 remains higher pic.twitter.
In the Philippines, the coronavirus disease has so far infected 8,488 people, with 586 deaths and 1,043 recoveries. The Philippine government earlier started repatriating Filipinos overseas who wished to come home amid the pandemic. It prepared facilities where the migrants could spend the 14-day quarantine before returning to their respective hometowns.
