The latest episode of Dexter: Original Sin reveals a shocking truth about Aaron Spencer, the current Miami Metro Police Department Captain, potentially setting up a Dexter season 7 finale-esque climax for the series.

WARNING: SPOILERS ahead for Dexter: Original Sin episode 7. A major reveal in Dexter: Original Sin episode 7 hints that a potentially similar formula to the Dexter season 7 finale is being employed in the prequel series. With only three episodes left in season 1 of Dexter: Original Sin , tensions reach new heights as Dexter haphazardly discovers that Aaron Spencer , the current police captain at Miami Metro Police Department , is the murderer of prominent Judge Powell's young son, Jimmy.

Even more shockingly, Spencer kidnapped and dismembered his own son, Nicky, by cutting off one of his fingers and sending it to Miami Metro. While it was long suspected that one of the new Dexter: Original Sin characters would turn out to be a main or supporting villain, the revelation that Spencer is behind the kidnapping of his son is undoubtedly shocking. Dexter already had his hands full in Original Sin episode 7 before discovering Spencer. The episode begins with Levi Reed's body in the back of his truck and Tony Ferrerr's severed arm being analyzed by Masuka and LaGuerta. Typical of Dexter's MO, he finds a way out of that sticky situation only to catch the unsuspecting Spender red-handed, making him a target. Dexter: Original Sin Season 1 Episode 7 Hints Dexter Will Kill Aaron Spencer In The Finale Spencer Is Revealed To Be Jimmy Powell's Murderer & The Kidnapper Of His Own Son Dexter strangely finds Spencer sitting in his chair at the Miami Metro forensics lab at the end of Dexter: Original Sin episode 7. Spencer looks over the blood results on his son, Nicky Spencer, whose severed finger was sent to Miami Metro, much like Jimmy Powell's. Although the kidnapper matches Spencer's blood type, Dexter hasn't yet made the connection that the kidnapper is shockingly Aaron, who subtly tries to deter Dexter from further exploration. Dexter notices a bloody wound on Aaron's wrist. Combined with the'hesitation cut' he noticed on Nicky's finger, Dexter suspects Aaron is the child killer. Related Dexter: Original Sin Episode 7 Review - I Don't Know How To Feel About That Massive Character Twist Following a brief hiatus, Dexter: Original Sin episode 7,'The Big Bad Body Problem' returns to drop a major villain twist that may divide audiences. This major revelation in Dexter: Original Sin suggests that Dexter will plan to orchestrate his next bout of vigilantism against Spencer. At this point, the audience is one step ahead of Dexter following a scene of Nicky stabbing his kidnapper halfway through the episode. While Dexter's suspicions are raised, he'll still need to find proof that Spencer is truly the child killer. Dexter: Original Sin episode 8 will likely portray Dexter spying on Spencer outside the office to gather the evidence he needs to satisfy Harry's Code. Dexter may even tell Harry, who may want to confront Spencer himself. Aaron Spencer Wouldn't Be The Only Miami Metro Homicide Captain Who Dexter Kills While Deb Pulled The Trigger, Dexter Is Responsible For LaGuerta's Season 7 Death Dexter killing Spencer would mark the first time that he killed a Miami Metro Homicide Captain chronologically, but it would not be the first occurrence in franchise history. Dexter fans will remember the tragic circumstances Dexter and Deb faced at the end of Dexter season 7, which led to Deb killing LaGuerta to protect Dexter's serial killer identity. While Deb pulled the trigger, Dexter is really to blame for LaGuerta's in Dexter's season 7 finale. With this interesting development on Spencer, it would be interesting if Dexter wound up with blood on his hands for two Captain deaths. Even if Spencer deserves it, Dexter may have difficulty going through with it at the end of Original Sin season 1. The biggest difference in these instances, of course, is that Spencer is likely a murderer, while LaGuerta was only killed because she was going to expose Dexter. If Spencer does find himself on Dexter's signature table in the Original Sin season 1 finale, it would also explain the notable absence of an original series character, Captain Thomas Matthews. It would also mark the first time in Dexter's chronology that he murdered a public figure. Even if Spencer deserves it, Dexter may have difficulty going through with it at the end of Original Sin season 1. Will Harry Morgan Help Dexter Kill Aaron Spencer In Original Sin Season 1? Harry May Want To Provide Parental Supervision On Dexter's Spencer Kill Close Dexter has the unprecedented ability to ask Harry for help killing his target in Dexter: Original Sin. Considering the shocking nature of Spencer's exposure as the child killer, Harry will likely have a complicated response to the news before ultimately making the right decision. If Harry does help Dexter out with killing Spencer, it would be nearly parallel to the LaGuerta situation with Deb, who reluctantly stayed loyal to Dexter over her Miami Metro superio
