KUALA LUMPUR: The current Dewan Rakyat sitting has been extended by two days, bringing it to 31 days.
Dewan Rakyat Speaker Datuk Johari Abdul said the decision was made by Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim, who is the leader of the House, in line with Standing Order 11.
“This is to allow several Bills and government matters to be tabled and decided,” he said at the start of Tuesday’s sitting.The Dewan Rakyat will now adjourn sine die on April 4.Standing Order 11 gives the leader or deputy leader of the House the power to amend the dates of meetings in a particular session that have been fixed.
