The microlight aircraft has taken to the sky after being built from scratch by students.
Student Tillie Baker described the experience of flying on the plane she helped build as "incredible"Engineering students from Devon worked with mentors to construct a microlight aircraft from scratch.
Speaking to BBC Radio Devon after the 40-minute flight on Monday, the 17-year-old, said: "It was just out of this world." Miss Baker said the weather during the flight from Belle Vue Airfield in Torrington was "glorious", with views across Exmoor and the city. Jackie Theakston-Thomas, faculty manager at Petroc, said the project was "a fantastic opportunity" for students.
