Suns head coach Monty Williams called it after Devin Booker’s 6-of-22 effort in Thursday night’s road victory over the Lo Angeles Clippers.
"I liked the shots he took,” Williams said. “He just missed them. He's due for one of those explosions."Booker absolutely erupted for a season-high 58 points in leading Phoenix to a thrilling 118-114 comeback win Saturday over New Orleans before a euphoric sellout crowd of 17,071 at Footprint Center.
Down 24 points in the third, Phoenix closed the quarter on a 25-6 run to pull five, 89-84, as Booker scored 20 in the quarter on 8-of-12 shooting.The Suns took the lead in the fourth for good, 109-107, on Bismack Biyombo’s basket off a Chris Paul lob pass with 4:11 left in the fourth.The win evens the regular season series, 2-2, as both teams won at home. The Suns avenged consecutive losses in New Orleans last week in a span of three days.
