Evergreen will be a 740 acre community in Conroe at the northwest corner of FM 242 and FM 1314. The first phase will feature 247 homes.Shea Homes, a developer and homebuilder based in Walnut, Calif., broke ground on Evergreen, a 740-acre community planned for 2,000 homes in the Conroe area. The first homes are expected to be available for sale in spring of 2023.
The community, at the northwest corner of FM 242 and FM 1314, will devote 100 acres to parks, greenspace and amenities. The first phase is planned for 247 homes with 40-, 50-, 60- and 70-foot wide lots. Shea Homes will build homes alongside Chesmar Homes and Perry Homes.Shea Homes, which also developed the 240-acre Del Bello Lakes community in Manvel, acquired the land for Evergreen in 2020.
“We are excited to get this off the ground and see our vision start taking shape,” Keith Luechtefeld, Houston division president for Shea Homes, said in an announcement. The plan includes a modern recreation center, open spaces and trails, and other amenities along the creek that traverses the property. Served by the Conroe Independent School District, the community is about 40 miles north of downtown Houston.
The Evergreen project team includes Meta Planning + Design, Elevation Land Solutions and TBG Partners as the landscape architect. Shea Homes builds in 10 communities across the Houston area.
