Dr. Devon Hoover, 53, was found dead in his $1.2 million home on April 23.
Almost two months later, there have been no further arrests.
Long before he rose to the top ranks of the medical profession, Hoover spent his childhood on his family’s dairy farm in Elkhart, Indiana, PEOPLE said. “He was amazing,” patient Sheryl Leaver told the outlet, recalling how Hoover operated on her severely arthritic back in 2021 and 2022.Another patient, Eric Kreutzkamp, said Hoover gave him his quality of life back after treating him for spinal pain last year.“I literally broke down in his office crying because I didn’t even know what to do,” he remembered.

The unanimous vote by the Hamtramck City Council came during a tense meeting that raised questions about discrimination, religion and the city’s reputation for welcoming newcomers. The council voted to display only certain flags, including the American flag and one that represents the native countries of immigrant residents. More than 40% of Hamtramck's residents were born in other countries, especially Yemen and Bangladesh.
