All five of the Detroit Lions starting offensive linemen are fathers with nine children among them, and they are all embracing fatherhood together. NBC’s Peter Alexander reports for TODAY.
The starting offensive line for the Detroit Lions is concerned with taking care of more than just their quarterback. All five players are dads, with nine kids among them and another on the way. Yes, Penei Sewell, Graham Glasgow, Frank Ragnow, Kevin Zeitler and Taylor Decker are paid to protect quarterback Jared Goff, but they are loving dads off the field. Sewell says he appreciates having this kind of bond with his fellow linemen.
“We’re the best at what we do in football, but for whatever reason, that almost makes these guys the best at what they do being a dad,” he said. “Me and Penei, Monday and Wednesday, we have swim lessons together with our kids,” he continued, adding, “It’s just cool to see people who are at the top of their craft in their profession also trying to be at the top level of being a father and a husband.
