Detectives seek information from the public about Encinitas fatal hit and run [Breaking]
Sheriff’s detectives are asking for information from the public that could lead to an arrest in a hit-and-run crash that killed a man in Encinitas earlier this month, officials said.
David D'Lima, 23, and a woman were struck by a vehicle about 12:30 a.m. Jan. 1 in the intersection of North Coast Highway and Encinitas Boulevard, sheriff’s Deputy Alex Tran said in a statement. The pair had been running in the street. Both victims were taken to a hospital for treatment. D'Lima died at a hospital, according to the San Diego County Medical Examiner. The woman survived.The driver’s vehicle was described as a black Chrysler/Dodge minivan, Tran said. A left side mirror was located at the scene.Anyone with information about this incident can call the North Coastal Sheriff’s Station at 966-3500.
