No es la primera ciudad fronteriza en que los cárteles han instalado sus propias redes de vigilancia.

Veinticuatro cámaras de vigilancia instaladas por narcotraficantes en postes telefónicos y de luz en la ciudad mexicana de San Luis Río Colorado han sido incautadas, anunciaron autoridades el viernes. Esta ciudad del estado norteño de Sonora padece violencia desde hace años a causa de enfrentamientos entre cárteles de la droga por el control del cruce fronterizo, donde pueden contrabandear drogas.

Pero se ha visto cada vez más afectada por la violencia de los cárteles de la droga. No es la primera ciudad fronteriza en que los cárteles han instalado sus propias redes de vigilancia. En 2015, un cártel de narcotraficantes del estado de Tamaulipas, en el noreste de México, utilizó por lo menos 39 cámaras para vigilar las acciones de las autoridades en la ciudad de Reynosa, limítrofe con McAllen, Texas.
