How to stay safe in this stormHouston County is now under a local State of Emergency. At this moment we expect significant rain, localized flooding, and strong gusts in parts of the county. With the saturated ground, there is a possibility of downed trees and power outages. The county strongly urges people to stay off the roads beginning this evening and continuing while the system moves through the area. They also remind everyone to never drive through standing water.
2. Due to the possibility of power outages, those who are on home oxygen should contact their supplier to obtain extra bottles for use over the 24-48 hours.
