“That’s probably the most disappointing thing from an Essendon defensive perspective – the fact is able to run onto that and take a chest mark and no one was prepared to sit at the front of the pack – that’s just inexcusable,” he said.“The effort’s just disappeared … there’s nothing left in the legs and maybe nothing left in the head either.”
Statistics showed Essendon managed just 20 inside 50s in the opening half – at a shocking 20 per cent efficiency.
