Destiny 2: Shadowkeep has given players a quest for the Eriana's Vow catalyst, but it seems like it's bugged. It isn't, but this is a warning not to waste your time.
, you also have the game’s first major stab at a “battle pass”-like offering with the season rank system. In its initial run here, you will be given the Eriana’s Vow hand cannon at tier 1, a gun that can only be described as “chonky” as it uses special ammo and blasts through shields and does big precision damage, at the cost of low magazine, handling and reload speed. Situationally, it’s pretty great.
You will also get a catalyst quest for Eriana’s Vow from Banshee shortly after you get it. It asks you to use Eriana’s Vow in Crucible, Gambit or strike activities, and there’s a percent fill meter.I thought I was missing something here. I did about five strikes and two Crucible matches with Eriana’s Vow and saw that my meter had only gone up 1%.
In the Season Rank pass, there are actually two boosts that have to do with this catalyst quest specifically. At rank 11, you will get the Catalyst Quest Boostunlock, which doubles the progress you make toward this quest. At rank 22, you will get the Catalyst Quest Boost Omega unlock, which then triples progress.
I thought that maybe I needed to be getting kills specifically with the gun, so I did that for a while and it didn’t help at all. But that’s the point, you’re supposed to make incredibly slow progress until these unlocks hit. I don’t actually know what the catalyst does yet, and I don’t think anyone has gotten it yet because of these restrictions. But considering how much I like the gun, I’m definitely eager to find out . But I keep seeing all these alarms going off about how the quest is bugged, which is what I thought too, but that isn’t what’s going on here. I hope this helped ease your mind you’re not doing something wrong.
