Newsweek has contacted Rajbhog Distributors Texas Inc. for comment.Why It MattersThe three dessert products contained milk, one of the nine main allergens in the U.S. The other eight include eggs, fish, wheat, soybeans, crustacean shellfish, tree nuts, peanuts and sesame.The FDA said that while most symptoms from food allergies are mild, some may progress to severe, life-threatening allergic reactions called anaphylaxis.It said that this can cause people to suffer constricted airways in the lungs, severe lowering of blood pressure and shock, and suffocation by swelling of the throat and larynx.What To KnowThe products impacted by the recall include: Rajbhog Sweets Jelebi Orange, code number S026, 9.5 oz packages Rajbhog Sweets Jelebi Yellow, code number S027, 9.5 oz packages Rajbhog Sweets Jelebi Jaggery, code number S028, 9.5 oz packages The products were only distributed within Texas, and there were 1073 lbs of each product impacted in total.The FDA issued its Class II risk classification for the products on February 27. The classification refers to situations in which 'use of or exposure to a violative product may cause temporary or medically reversible adverse health consequences or where the probability of serious adverse health consequences is remote.'In comparison, Class I refers to 'a situation in which there is a reasonable probability that the use of or exposure to a violative product will cause serious adverse health consequences or death.'Meanwhile, Class III refers to 'a situation in which use of or exposure to a violative product is not likely to cause adverse health consequences.'What People Are SayingThe FDA said on its website: 'Of the major food allergens, milk represents the most common cause of recalls due to undeclared allergens. The five food types most often involved in food allergen recalls were bakery products, snack foods, candy, dairy products, and dressings .''Within the candy category, the FDA has received many reports of undeclared milk in dark chocolate products, highlighting this food type as a higher risk product for consumers allergic to milk.'What's NextThe status of the recall has been noted as completed by the FDA.
