Moldova, one of the poorest countries in Europe, has become home to a higher number of Ukrainian refugees per capita than any country in the world. But as a country already struggling internally, that might not be sustainable.

In the weeks leading up to the war’s one-year anniversary, Moldova experienced a series of political upheavals.
