Desperate and dangerous, Putin is losing friends and ramping up the risk of nuclear war 🔎 Analysis by michael2day
To bolster his invasion and show Western leaders that he’s serious, Mr Putin has announced a mobilisation of reserve forces, something that will be extremely unpopular among ordinary Russians and emphasise that his “special operation” is really a war – and one that is failing.said in response to Mr Putin’s speech “fake referenda and mobilisation are signs of Russia’s weakness and failure.”
The Dutch Prime Minister, Mark Rutte, also said Russia’s mobilisation order is a sign of panic at the Kremlin, and that should not be taken as a direct threat of full-out war with the West. China and India – the only two major powers that have shown anything like support for Putin’s idiotic invasion – are now, quite publicly, getting cold feet. Last week India’spublicly chastised Mr Putin, telling him “today’s era is not an era of war, and I have spoken to you on the phone about this.”
