Republican presidential candidates will once again take the debate stage without the race's overwhelming favorite's participation.

The Republican National Committee has not confirmed which candidates will appear on the stage Wednesday, but the five candidates who appear to have qualified are Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis, former United Nations ambassador and South Carolina Gov. Nikki Haley, former New Jersey Gov. Chris Christie, tech entrepreneur Vivek Ramaswamy and South Carolina Sen. Tim Scott.endorsement from Iowa Gov.

“This could be make-or-break for DeSantis. He seems like he's putting all of his eggs in Iowa basket and in terms of attention and staff deployment,” said Aaron Kall, the director of debate at the University of Michigan.

Trump is skipping the debate and will once again be holding some form of counterprogramming to it in an effort to sap attention away from the field. This time, he will be holding a rally that will be going while the debate is on in Florida.
