Derek Watts, a South African television presenter best known for his role on the show Carte Blanche, has posted a photo of himself on social media in a hospital bed in Johannesburg, informing the public that he had collapsed two weeks prior from a suspected stroke and subsequently received a diagnosis of severe sepsis.Derek Watts has been with Carte Blanche since its inception in 1988 and has won numerous journalism awards for his work.
He is widely regarded as one of South Africa’s most respected journalists, and with over thirty years of experience in journalism, he has become a household name. According to his social media, the sepsis ‘destroyed’ his body in an hour, resulting in his needing to learn to walk again. Morning!
