ESCAMBIA COUNTY, Fla. -- A 30-year-old Pensacola man was arrested for domestic battery by strangulation and four counts of animal cruelty on Monday.According to the Escambia County Sheriff’s Office, they responded to the 6300 block of West Fairfield Drive for a disturbance.
Deputies say they were advised by a 24-year-old female victim that Jones had beaten her at least 50 times within the past five years. The video showed Jones grabbing the victim by the throat and slamming her to the bed restricting her breathing, according to the Escambia County Sheriff's Office. Deputies say an investigation revealed that Jones had also abused a small French Bulldog from the dates of May 31 to June 5.
"A video provided to deputies showed Jones holding the dog upside down by his rear legs and swinging him around, kicking the dog into a wall multiple times, beating the dog repeatedly with a belt, violently shaking the dog, holding the dog on the ground with his knee while shoving the dog’s head into the floor, and picking the dog up carrying him across the room and slamming him to the floor then kicking him," the sheriff's office says in a release.
