A Mexican national with prior deportations and convictions for illegal re-entry and firearm possession was arrested in San Antonio on firearms charges.
SAN ANTONIO - A Mexican national with a history of illegal re-entry into the United States was arrested in San Antonio on firearms charges. Juan Ramon Hernandez-Limon, 28, was taken into custody during a surveillance operation conducted by Immigration and Customs Enforcement ( ICE ). According to ICE , Hernandez-Limon attempted to evade arrest upon arriving at his residence. This is not his first encounter with the law.
Hernandez-Limon was previously convicted in April 2021 for illegal re-entry into the United States and for possessing a firearm as an alien. He received a sentence of 12 months and one day in federal detention for those charges. He was later re-arrested on February 8, 2024, for Illegal Re-Entry. Hernandez-Limon made his initial appearance in federal court on Tuesday and was charged with one count of illegal re-entry. If convicted, he faces up to 20 years in federal prison
