THE Department of Education Schools Division of Iloilo has vowed to act on the reported voyeurism incident involving scout leaders during the recent provincial jamboree.Reports stated that the incident occurred in private quarters away from the scouts and involved a 57-year-old male teacher and a 31-year-old female teacher during the 2024 BSP Provincial Jamboree, which is being held at Camp Hinilawod de Calinog Grand Arena, Barangay Libot, Calinog, Iloilo.
DepEd reaffirmed its zero-tolerance policy for acts of abuse, harassment, and exploitation and assured the public that any violations of its policies would result in appropriate consequences.“Let not this isolated incident disrupt the noble goal of DepEd and the scouting movement,” DepEd said.Police reports stated that the suspect used a cellphone to peep at the victim while she was bathing in a makeshift tarpaulin comfort room on the morning of November 25, 2024.
