According to the National Weather Service in Boulder, Denver will begin a warming trend on Wednesday, reaching a high of 55 degrees. The sunny day will not feel as nice as you may like, as west winds of about 15 mph Wednesday morning become 25 mph norther winds after sunrise. Later in the day, winds could gust up to 38 mph. The evening’s low will dip to 31, and while winds will slow, they’ll still gust to 25 mph.
The morning winds will only increase in speed throughout the day, becoming strong in the afternoon. Forecasters said peak gusts of 55 mph are expected around the Palmer Divide, and winds over 60 mph are possible in many areas during the early afternoon, mainly east and south of the metro area. The NWS has issued a High Wind Warning from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. for the Palmer Divide, Lincoln County, and other areas in the state’s southeastern corner.
