Warm weather, gusty winds, low humidity and mostly sunny skies will create critical fire concerns for widespread parts of Colorado on Saturday including the metro area.
Winds will increase this afternoon and gust up to 40 mph, especially through Park and southern Jefferson counties, and across the Palmer Divide area, according to the National Weather Service.
In Denver, skies will be mostly sunny on Saturday with a high temperature near 89 degrees, according to the weather service forecast. Winds will gust to about 33 mph. On Saturday evening, there’s a slight chance for severe thunderstorms on the northeast plains, mainly in Phillips and Sedgwick counties, with a chance of lightning, strong winds and hail.
