San Antonio will experience dense fog Saturday morning, potentially causing reduced visibility.
After a dry Friday, atmospheric moisture will return to South Texas as southerly winds increase dew point temperatures along and east of Interstate 35. Dew points, which are a good indicator of how much water vapor is in the air, rise with humidity levels. As a result of the moisture-rich air surging in, San Antonio will experience overcast skies and widespread dense fog on Saturday morning, particularly along and east of the I-35 corridor.
The fog may be so thick that road visibility could be reduced to a quarter-mile or less. This could prompt the National Weather Service office overseeing San Antonio and Austin to issue a dense fog advisory. If you plan to head out early to drive somewhere, be sure to exercise caution on the roads because of these foggy conditions. An upper-level storm system also will be moving over Texas and the southern Plains, bringing a weak Pacific cold front into the region. However, the highest chances for seeing some scattered showers or a few thunderstorms will be much farther away, closer to the Gulf Coast or in Southeast Texas, along and east of U.S. 77 during the afternoon. Rain chances are estimated to be fairly low west of San Antonio and only 40% farther east of the city. If you are traveling to Houston or East Texas, be aware of a higher likelihood of stronger storms in those area
