during the Department of Environment and Natural Resources-National Capital Region's Gawad Taga-Ilog 3:0: The Search for the Most Improved Estero held at the Luxent Hotel in Quezon City on Friday, March 24.runner up for Gawad Taga-Ilog., the city nominated the Redemptorist Water Chanel, an adopted
waterway of the ASEANA Business Part Estate Association Inc. , and and bested the other waterways in the 15 local government units in Metro Manila. Mayor Eric Olivarez said the ABPEA Aseana City adopted the Redemptorist Water Channel under the DENR's Adopt-An-Estero Program since 2013. Olivarez said in collaboration and close coordination with the city government through the City Environment and Natural Resources Office , various activities such as clean-up operations and installation of trash trap were done to improve the water quality of the Redemptorist Water Channel.
The "Gawad Taga-Ilog 3.0: Search for the Most Improved Estero in Metro Manila" was launched to recognize the contributions and efforts of local governments, barangays in particular, in keeping esteros and rivers, and other water bodies in Metro Manila, clean and trash free, in compliance with the Supreme Court Writ of Continuing Mandamus on the Clean-up, Rehabilitation, and Preservation of Manila Bay.
