Dennis Allen balks at exploring new options in the Saints’ offensive playcalling duties.
Saints News Network's Ross Jackson asked Dennis Allen about possibly changing the playcalling duties, and the Saints head coach balked by saying,"I don't think we're even going to go down that road right now." An earlier question about the playcalling generated this response,"Yeah, look, I'm not going there. You know, we'll go, and we'll look and see what we could have done better, all of us, coaches and players, and then we'll go from there.
Oct 1, 2023; New Orleans, Louisiana, USA; New Orleans Saints head coach Dennis Allen talks to coaches before a game against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers at the Caesars Superdome. Mandatory Credit: Matthew Hinton-USA TODAY Sports Todd Bowles' game plan was simple — keep the Saints offense under 20 yards, and don't get beat deep. "Did you see any evidence that the shoulder was bothering Derek not during the game?" asked WWL's Doug Mouton. "I didn't," Allen replied. "You get a little sore there at the end. But, you know, there's probably a couple of throws where I felt like it might have come up a little bit short, and I don't know that that was. I don't know if that was relative to the shoulder or not.
