ABC7 blurred the faces of the two people seen detained by officers in the video, since it is not clear if they face charges. This comes after, police say, officers encountered two boys whose actions made for "unsafe conditions." When officers tried to detain them, police said, the two boys resisted, and that's when a third boy punched an officer in the head, causing a cut. But demonstrators on Tuesday said they believe the officers used excessive force and should be held accountable. Police said three boys arrested on Monday were students at East Aurora High School, and they were all charged with improper walking in the roadway, obstructing, and resisting a peace officer. One of the boys is also facing a charge of aggravated battery to a police officer. In the meantime, Tuesday's protest is said to go until 7:30 p.m., with officers manning the demonstration to make sure things, they say, remain peaceful."The Aurora Police Department is aware of a planned protest at Simmons Park this evening. The Department supports the community's right to gather and express their views peacefully and is working to ensure the safety of all participants, residents, and visitors in the area. Individuals who are not participating in the protest are encouraged to avoid the immediate vicinity and consider using alternate travel routes to minimize congestion and help maintain a safe environment. We appreciate everyone's cooperation and remind all participants to act with respect for the safety of others and the community."
