As intraparty disagreements continue to stall House Republicans from choosing its next speaker, Democrats are choosing to remain uninvolved, insisting the deadlock must be solved by the majority party alone.
“It's the majority party's responsibility to elect the speaker with 218 votes and then to be able to sustain it,” said Minority Leader Hakeem Jeffries . “Why is that so complicated, particularly during such a difficult time for the American people and for Israel and for the Ukrainian people and for the free world?”
