He accused Democrats of ignoring the fallout of undoing the 'patriarchy,' what he described as 'society's primary organizing paradigm for centuries.'

WASHINGTON, DC - APRIL 27: Sen. Christopher Murphy, D-Conn., questions Zalmay Khalilzad, special envoy for Afghanistan Reconciliation, at the Senate Foreign Relations Committee on Capitol Hill, April 27, 2021 in Washington, DC.

In his statement, the Democratic senator described the election as “a cataclysm” after Republicans took control of the White House and Senate. They are also likely to maintain a majority in the House, giving the GOP full control in Washington, D.C. “The right pushes an alluring dial back,” he wrote. “The left says ‘get over it.’ Again, a refusal to listen/offer responsible solutions.”

The Obama White House made similar blunders when it urged college presidents to always believe women who accuse men of sexual assault or risk federal funding, he wrote. Farrell also noted court battles that end with fathers losing custody of children add to isolation among men, though “both political parties perpetrate this family court bias.”
