McMahon, a co-founder of World Wrestling Entertainment (WWE), previously served on the Connecticut State Board of Education and ran two unsuccessful Senate campaigns in Connecticut. Since leaving the first Trump administration, she has been the chair of the board at Super PAC America First Action. \The senators stressed the need for an accessible higher education system for all Americans and called for a Secretary of Education who prioritizes students and families over for-profit colleges and ineffective loan servicers. They further urged McMahon to reject extreme policies aimed at dismantling the Department of Education.
