He told CNN anchor Jim Acosta during an appearance on the network there is no evidence that lawmakers involved in investigating then-President Donald Trump for “inciting violence” against the U.S. committed any wrongdoing. He explained he "strongly" opposes the idea of preemptive pardons. Any lawmakers receiving preemptive pardons would likely be of the “top echelon,” according to Sen. Blumenthal. The “underlings,” he noted, would still fear “that kind of prosecution.”
